Online Banking Help

Welcome to Online Banking

Online Banking is a reliable service that allows you to enjoy day-to-day banking from the comfort of your home. Whether you prefer to use your PC or browse with a mobile device, online banking provides a convenient way for you to check your credit union account balances, transactions, statements, and checks.

Help Topics

Signing Up

To sign up for online banking, a few pieces of information are required to confirm your identity. You will be asked for your credit union account number, last name, and the last 4 digits of your social security number. Your email address will be used to send you alerts and information for your online banking account. Security questions will be used to verify your credentials when resetting your password or logging in from a new PC or device.

Account Summary

The account summary page is a convenient way to view a complete list of all accounts you own as well as any accounts that you are a joint owner on, plus accounts that have been attached to yours. All accounts will be grouped by account type, and any joint or attached accounts will be grouped under the member account who owns them.
Changing your account nicknames
Every account that you have access to has a nickname used to identify it on the online banking website. When you first sign up, your nicknames are all set to the default (e.g. SHARE_1), but can be changed to anything. For example, you may rename your primary draft account as "Checking Account" and will then be able to easily identify it on the website.
To change an account nickname, click on the pencil icon (Rename) to the right of the account number in the account list. This will open a dialog box that will accept any text 40 characters or less.
Joint member accounts or member accounts that are attached to yours can also be nicknamed in a similar fashion. To do this, simply click on the blue header bar that represents the joint or attached member account, and the nickname dialog will appear.
Any nicknames that you set will only be used by this website and will not show up on any of your monthly statements.

Account Activity

The account activity page allows you to view your transaction history on each account you have access to. Filter the transactions by date range or by text search using the options presented at the top of the page.
In addition to your transactions, the activity page will also show you any temporary authorizations or check holds that have been placed on your account. To view them, simply click the Show Temporary Authorizations and Check Holds button above the transaction list.

Transfers

The transfers page is where you can transfer money between all accounts you have access to. It also allows you to make check withdrawals, either to be mailed to your home address or reserved to be picked up at the credit union. Depending on your access privileges, you may be able to transfer into accounts you cannot view on the accounts page. Please contact your credit union if you need to make any changes to the access rights to any of your Joint or Attached accounts. Also note that for security purposes, your credit union may place a daily withdrawal limit on your accounts.

Check Images

The checks page will provide a list of all checks you have cleared, ordered by date. You may click on any of the listed checks to obtain images of the front and back of the check. This feature is also accessible from the activity page when you click a check number listed on any check transaction.

E-Statements

Electronic Statements (or E-Statements) are pdf replicas of the statements you receive each month by mail. The statements page will provide a selection of statements to choose from, and you can download them to your device to view. If you are not currently signed up for E-Statements, the Statements page will provide a brief disclosure which you must agree to before you are signed up.

Downloading Transactions

The Downloads page is where you are able to download any or all of your account transactions to your device, after which you can import them into your financial software. Use the checkboxes to select the accounts you wish to download transactions for, and then select the file format you wish you download them in at the bottom. Click the download button to complete the process.

Operating Systems and Security

The Online Banking site is designed to operate using the World Wide Web technologies and protocols, which are adaptable to a wide range of systems. The Online Banking section uses SSL encryption and requires a browser with the ability to use SSL encrypted connections. Some older browsers may not be able to connect to the site without first updating the browser. Our server uses 128-bit domestic encryption and 40-bit international encryption, depending on the user's browser.

We use cookies to help us administer the Online Banking section. Some browsers allow you to reject cookies from servers. If cookies are disabled, you must enable at least per session cookies or you will not be able to log in. The cookie we set contains information we need for security, and allows us to 'time out' your authority to view information. A cookie cannot be used to extract data from your PC. We do not store your Access Code, User Id or Password in your cookie.

The cookie we set will 'time out' your access authority to our Online Banking Service. Until it times out, you can come back to our Online Banking without logging in. After the time out period, you will need to log in again. Remember, most browsers will let you use a BACK button to view previously visited documents, even if your viewing authority has expired. For this reason, the only way to keep others from viewing your account balance is to logout from the Online Banking Service. An idle connection will time out and automatically log you out. Time out is set for 7 minutes.

Privacy

Our Online Banking database is a private system operated for the exclusive use of our members. We use SSL encryption to insure the privacy of your information when sending data between the Credit Union's Online Banking server and your PC. The server logs all Online Banking authenticated logins. We use this information for internal review and product evaluations only. We never sell, transfer or trade this information unless we are compelled to do so by law. We may gather and store additional information available to us including, but not limited to, failed login attempts and other activity we consider a threat to the Online Banking system.

Liability for Unauthorized Transfers

Contact Priority First FCU IMMEDIATELY if you believe your password has been lost or stolen and immediately change your password from within the Online Banking section. Calling is the best way to notify us immediately. You could lose all the money in your account. If you tell us within two (2) business days, you can lose no more than $50 if someone used your password without your permission. If you do NOT tell us within two (2) business days after you learn of the loss or theft of your password, and we can prove we could have stopped someone from using your password without your permission if you had told us, you could lose as much as $500. All transactions generated by you through the Credit Union's Online Banking Service and any Online Banking fees will appear on your monthly or quarterly statement. If your statement shows payments and/or transfers that you did not make, notify us IMMEDIATELY. If you do not tell us within sixty (60) days after the statement was mailed to you, you may not get back any money you lost after the sixty (60) days if we can prove that we could have stopped someone from taking the money if you had told us in time. Relationship to Other Agreements

You agree that when you use Mobile Banking Services, you will remain subject to the terms and conditions of all existing agreements with Priority First FCU. You acknowledge that certain message and data rates may apply from your wireless service providers and/or wireless carriers which might impact your use of Mobile Banking. For example, your mobile service carrier or provider may impose data usage or text charges for your use of or interaction with Mobile Banking, including downloading the software, receiving or sending Mobile Banking text messages, or other use of your Mobile Device when using the software or other products and services provided by Mobile Banking. You expressly agree that you are responsible for all such fees, limitations and restrictions and that we may contact you via your Mobile Device for any purpose concerning your accounts at Priority First FCU, including account servicing and collection purposes.

You agree not to misrepresent your identity or your account information. ALWAYS log out after you’re done using Mobile Banking. Measures to Maintain My Privacy and Security

Your information is only sent through secure channels. Priority First FCU Mobile Application does not store any personal information such as email, phone number or address. None of your financial information is saved in your phone, unless you save it somewhere yourself.

Privacy Policy

Priority First FCU’s Privacy Policy explains how we use information, how we keep information private, what systems this affects and in what circumstances information may be shared. Priority First FCU’s Privacy Policy may be found at priorityfirstfcu.org/privacy. First and foremost we do not gather, collect or maintain any information about you that can identify you as an individual except for such services where you make such information available. These services include our Online Banking, Mobile Banking, various account applications and service requests. We gather only information that is necessary to process your request and we maintain the information in the strictest of confidence.

REMOTE DEPOSIT

Remote Deposit Service enables you to use the Priority First FCU Mobile Application and Mobile Devices approved by us to (i) create electronic images of the front and back of qualifying deposit items and (ii) transmit those images and other information, including, without limitation, information captured from the magnetic ink character recognition (“MICR”) line, to us for review and processing. “Electronic Item” means the electronic image of each Paper Item and other information captured from the Paper Item. You shall use hardware approved by Priority First FCU for the Service to create electronic images of checks and other Paper Items that you wish to deposit to your Account by means of the Service, and to transmit your Electronic Items to us. A “Paper Item” is an item that is in paper form. An “Item” includes a check, money order, cashier’s check or traveler’s check. You will use the Service only for Paper Items that are payable to, and endorsed by you. After we receive your transmission, we will review each Electronic Item. For each Electronic Item that we determine is eligible for processing as described below, we will:

  • Create a substitute check that we will present directly or indirectly to the bank (a) on which the original Paper Item to which the Electronic Item relates is drawn, or (b) at or through which the Paper Item is payable (each, the “Paying Bank”);
  • Include the Electronic Item in an electronic file for presentment directly or indirectly to the Paying Bank; or
  • Present or post any Electronic Item for which we are the Paying Bank.

User Statement

I am authorized by Priority First FCU to remotely deposit valid paper checks I receive to my account by electronically transmitting a digital image of the paper checks to Priority First FCU for deposit. My use of the Services constitutes my acceptance of the terms and conditions of this Disclosure and Agreement. Upon receipt of the digital image, Priority First FCU will review the image for acceptability. I understand that, in the event I receive a notification from Priority First FCU confirming receipt of an image, such notification does not mean that the image contains no errors or that Priority First FCU is responsible for any information I transmit, or that the check is valid. Priority First FCU is not responsible for any image that we do not receive or for invalid checks. Following receipt of the image, we may process the image by preparing a “substitute check” or clearing the item as an image. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, Priority First FCU reserves the right, within our sole and absolute discretion, to accept or reject any item for remote deposit into your account. I understand that any amount credited to my account for items deposited using the services is a provisional credit only and I agree to indemnify us against any loss we suffer because of our acceptance of the remotely deposited check.

In addition I agree that I will not (i) modify, change, alter, translate, create derivative works from, reverse engineer, disassemble or decompile the technology or Service, (ii) copy or reproduce all or any part of the technology or Service; or (iii) interfere, or attempt to interfere, with the technology or Service.

Compliance with Law

I agree to use the products and service for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, as well as all laws pertaining to the conduct of my business if applicable. I warrant that I will only transmit acceptable items for deposit and have handled the original items in accordance with applicable laws, rules and regulations. I promise to indemnify and hold Priority First FCU harmless from any damages, liabilities, costs, expenses (including attorneys’ fees) or other harm arising out of any violation thereof. This indemnity will survive termination of my account and of this Agreement.

Check Requirements

Any image of a check that I transmit to Priority First FCU must accurately and legibly provide all of the information on the front and back of the check at the time presented to me by the drawer. Prior to capturing the original check, I will properly endorse the back of the original check as required. All checks must be endorsed:

“For Mobile Deposit Only PFFCU” and include the payee’s signature.

The image of the check transmitted to us must accurately and legibly provide, among other things, the following information: (1) the information identifying the drawer and the Paying Bank that is preprinted on the check, including complete and accurate MICR information and the signature(s); and (2) other information placed on the check prior to the time an image of the check is captured, such as any required identification written on the front of the check and any endorsements applied to the back of the check. The image quality for the check will meet the standards for image quality established by the American National Standards Institute (“ANSI”), the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve and any other regulatory agency, clearing house or association.

Rejection of Deposit

Priority First FCU is not liable for any service or late charges levied due to rejection of any item. In all cases, I am responsible for any loss or overdraft amounts plus any applicable fees to your account due to an item being returned. I understand and agree that I cannot exceed the limitations on frequency and dollar amounts of Remote Deposits that are set forth by Priority First FCU. Applicable Remote Deposit limits are:

  • Maximum single check deposit amount = $5,000;
  • Maximum monthly aggregate Remote Deposits = $20,000;

E-mail Address

I agree to notify Priority First FCU immediately if I change my e-mail address, as this is the e-mail address where Priority First FCU will send me notification of rejected Remote Deposit items. I understand that my failure to notify the Credit Union in a timely manner of any change to my e-mail address could cause additional costs such as fees to be incurred, and I agree that such costs would be my responsibility.

Unavailability of Services

I understand and agree that the Services may at times be temporarily unavailable due to the Financial Institution’s system maintenance or technical difficulties including those of the Internet service provider, cellular service provider and Internet software. In the event that the services are unavailable, I acknowledge that I can deposit an original check at your branches or through an ATM, or by mailing the original check to you. It is my sole responsibility to verify that items deposited using the services have been received and accepted for deposit by Priority First FCU. However, Priority First FCU will provide e-mail notification of items that are rejected by the next business day following rejection.

Cut-Off Time and Credit to Your Account

Deposits received prior to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time on a business day the Credit Union is open will be credited to my account on the same business day. Deposits received after 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time or any day the Credit Union is not open, including holidays, will be credited the next business day.

Funds Availability

The total amount posted during each Deposit Session will be credited to the selected account after each deposit image is verified and approved by Priority First FCU. Priority First FCU’s policy is to make the funds from an image of an item you submit through the service available to you the next business day after we receive your deposit. If we are not going to make all of the funds from your deposit available on the next business day, we will notify you by email after we receive your deposit. If you will need the funds from a deposit right away, you should ask us when the funds will be available.

Funds I deposit by check may be delayed for a longer period under the following circumstances:

  • Priority First FCU believes a check I deposit will not be paid;
  • I deposit checks totaling more than $5,000 on any one day;
  • I redeposit a check that has been returned unpaid;
  • I have overdrawn my account repeatedly in the last six months;
  • There is an emergency, such as a failure of communication or computer equipment; and/or
  • I deposit a check(s) into a new account during the first 30 days.

I understand and agree that funds from Items deposited under the Mobile Remote Deposit Service are not subject to Federal Reserve Board Regulation CC (availability of funds). Items submitted through the Remote Deposit Service are not subject to the Funds Availability Policy applicable to the Account.

Accountholder’s Warranties

I make the following warranties and representations with respect to each image of an original check I transmit to you utilizing the Services:

I understand and agree that I am responsible for any loss caused by my failure to secure and destroy the original check.

Securing Images on Mobile Devices

When using Remote Deposit, I understand that check images captured using my Mobile Device are stored on the device only until the associated deposit has been successfully submitted. I agree to promptly complete each deposit. In the event that I am unable to promptly complete my deposit, I agree to ensure that my Mobile Device remains securely in my possession until the deposit has been completed or to delete all associated images from the application.

Warranties

I UNDERSTAND THAT PRIORITY FIRST FCU DOES NOT MAKE ANY WARRANTIES ON EQUIPMENT, HARDWARE, SOFTWARE OR INTERNET PROVIDER SERVICE, OR ANY PART OF THEM, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
